Huayna Picchu mountain is located at about 2,720 m.a.s.l. Its location between the Andes mountain range and the Amazon rainforest makes the climate changeable and unpredictable, with the possibility of experiencing several seasons in a single day.
Temperatures on the mountain
The climate is temperate, with maximum temperatures ranging between 19°C and 21°C, and minimum temperatures ranging from 8°C to 11°C. However, on the coldest nights of the months of June and July, the temperature can drop to -2°C.

Dry Season (April to October): Considered the best time for the ascent. The days are clear and sunny, which guarantees the best panoramic views from the summit. June and July are the driest months but also the coldest in the morning.

Rainy Season (November to March): Landscapes look greener and more lush. Although rains are more frequent, they are usually intermittent. The biggest drawback is the morning fog that can limit visibility.
Visibility and fog
During the rainy season, the sanctuary often wakes up covered in clouds. If you have this ticket in rainy months, it is recommended to choose later schedules (starting from 10:00 AM), as the clouds dissipate as the morning progresses, allowing for better photographs.
