The final cost of your official Machu Picchu entrance ticket is primarily determined by two key factors: the visitor's nationality and the chosen type of route. The Ministry of Culture promotes regional tourism by offering significantly discounted rates for citizens of the Andean Community (Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Bolivia) compared to the general rate for Foreigners. Additionally, tickets are classified into two experience categories based on physical demand and the exclusive areas included:
Standard Routes (Base Price)
Includes routes 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B, 3B, and 3D. These options offer the classic and traditional tour of the Inca citadel, access to the terraces for the postcard photo, or short light hiking trails. They have the official base purchase price.
Adventure Routes (With Supplement)
Includes advanced hiking routes 1A, 3A, and 3C. These options exclusively incorporate the exciting ascent to the imposing peaks framing the wonder (such as Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, or Temple of the Moon) and therefore carry an additional supplement of between $13 and $15 USD over the base price.

MANDATORY RESTRICTION FOR STUDENT DISCOUNTS
In order to successfully validate the special benefit and rate discount for University Students, it is a legal and strictly mandatory requirement to present at the physical controls of Machu Picchu the original university undergraduate card issued by the university (or SUNEDU in Peru) with its printed and readable validity for the current year (2026). Study certificates, photos of cards on cell phones, enrollment receipts, or expired ISIC cards will not be accepted.
Free Entry for Infants
Children under 3 years old enter completely free of charge to all circuits of Machu Picchu. No online reservation is required for them, they only need to present themselves accompanied by their parents or guardians at the physical gate and validate their age by showing their original passport or national identity document.
